Anthony is a family doctor, registered dietitian and physician who listens. His special interests include psychopharmacology and workplace mental health.
Anthony
founded HealthSmith Wellness Group in 1997 as an alliance of business and health professionals whose aim it is to help
organizations improve their bottom line by increasing wellness in the workplace.
He has presented seminars on Integrative Medicine and Wellness to physicians, nurses, dietitians, psychologists, pharmacists, human resources professionals and numerous police organizations.
As a primary care physician has a special interest in treatment resistant mood disorders, disordered eating, obesity, chronic pain and fatigue syndromes and addictions.
He is on the editorial board of Wellness Options magazine and a frequent reviewer for the Canadian Medical Association Journal. He is an instructor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of British Columbia.
He has a BSc in
Pharmacology / Toxicology and a MSc in Clinical Nutrition from the University of
Toronto. He received his MD in
In 2002 he got turned back by bad weather on Mt Rainier and Mt Baker, but completed the gnarly and totally harsh 67 km Test of Metal mountain bike race in Squamish, BC, despite breaking his seat post on the infamous Powerhouse Plunge.
